Kenneth(Ken) Hughley is the founder and owner of Hawaii Military Catering/ Hughley's Southern Cuisine restaurant located in the Aiea Town Square. After serving over 26 years in the Navy, Ken felt his military career had reached its peak and began considering retirement. At the time he was selected for advancement to Master Chief Petty Officer, which is the highest enlisted pay grade in the Navy. This posed a dilemma for him & after considering his options, and ensuring his decision was best for his family, Ken opted to retire from the navy, and begin a catering business in Hawaii.
Ken has 30 years of hospitality and customer service and is a Master Certified Food Executive, Certified HACCP Manager and Certified Professional Food Manager.
Hawaii Military Catering Inc was established in January 2012. Hughley's Southern Cuisine restaurant opened for business in early 2013 and offered both casual dining and take-out service. He slowly expanded the business by adding two food trucks followed by an express location in downtown Honolulu, Hughley's Express.
Our vision is to sell our customers Southern Cuisine also known as Soul Food; showcasing the uniqueness of the various cultures Hawaii has to offer. Use our traditional, flavored with soul recipes offering a standard menu with daily specials. Have the bst staff serving exceptional food and beverages.
